KHN Community Wellness offers health screenings both on and off-site. These screenings are performed by experts and are designed to promote health awarness at affordable rates.

Registration is required for all screenings. Call Community Wellness at (937) 558-3988 for an appointment.

Balance & Flexibility
This screening helps to identify those people who are at risk for falling. Once identified, exercises and activities can be recommended to reduce the risks.

Body Fat Analysis
Lean versus fat weight is determined using a bioelectrical impedance machine. Results are immediate. Recommendations for fat loss are discussed with a KMC health care professional.

Cardiovascular Health Assessment Screening 2
The thickening of an artery provides the earliest detectable evidence of atherosclerosis. A new ultrasound-imaging test, carotid intima media thickness (CIMT), can access risk of heart attack by measuring the layers of the carotid artery. Additional tests detect plaque in the carotid arteries and check for poor circulation in the lower extremities.

Colorectal
Includes the American Cancer Society guidelines for early cancer detection and prevention. Also includes a take home hemoccult kit.

Foot
Do you have heel pain, warts, bunions or a family history of diabetes? This screening, by a licensed podiatrist, provides early detection of common foot problems.

Hearing
Hearing impairment is the third most common health problem for people age 60 and over. Testing includes a visual exam, bone test and audiometric exam.

Metabolic Syndrome
Metabolic Syndrome is characterized by a cluster of risk factors, including abdominal obesity, elevated blood pressure, insulin resistance, low HDL (good) cholesterol and high blood fats. People with metabolic syndrome are at a higher risk of heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes. According to the American Heart Association, nearly 47 million American adults have metabolic syndrome. This screening will consist of a total lipid profile (HDL, LDL and triglycerides) plus glucose, height, weight, blood pressure, body fat analysis, waist circumference an a diabetes risk profile. A 12-hour fast is required.

Prostate
Includes the American Cancer Society guidelines for early cancer detection and prevention. Also includes a PSA blood test.

Blood Pressure
According to recent estimates, one in four U.S. adults have high blood pressure. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to stroke, heart attack, heart or kidney failure. The best way to tell if you have high blood pressure is to have your blood pressure checked.

Cardiovascular Health Assessment Screening 1
A basic assessment measures lipid levels (LDL, HDL, and Triglycerides), glucose, blood pressure and other risk factors for heart disease. The assessment includes a cardiovascular health plan.

Cholesterol
Includes a total lipid profile (good and bad cholesterol). A 12-hour fast and a finger stick are required.

Diabetes
Do you have high blood pressure? Do you rarely exercise? Find out if your numbers put you at risk for diabetes. Screening includes a blood pressure check, cholesterol, weight and blood glucose level. A 12-hour fast and a finger stick are required. Results are immediate.

Glaucoma
Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of preventable blindness in the U.S. Almost 80,000 Americans are blind from glaucoma, and another million are at risk for vision loss because they don't know they have it. Vision loss from glaucoma can be prevented if it is caught and treated in time.

Lung
A respiratory therapist will take your health history followed by a breathing test to determine breathing function. Results will be read by a KMC physician and mailed to you.

Osteoporosis
This screening determines bone loss without radiation and takes less than five minutes. The results are immediate.

Skin Cancer
This screening is a collaboration of the American Cancer Society, WSU School of Medicine, Dept. of Dermatology and local hospitals and organizations including Kettering Medical Center Network. The appointments are FREE; however, registration is required. Please call 1-888-227-6446 to register.
